The Klockner-Moeller PS22 system was aimed at the original equipment manufacturers market where cost was more important than flexibility. It is often found in standard machine tools and lift control systems.

Programming is difficult as the system has no external access. Programs are written using an external PRG programmer and can only be changed after erasing the EPROM with UV light.

Discontinued in the early 1990’s but still supported by Applied Automation, however some parts are difficult to get. Upgrading to a Moeller PS416 is recommended.
